Usually, when people think about sports in Brazil, Football is the first thing that pops in their minds. However, not only of Pelé and of Neymar the sports scenario in Brazil is made. Our vast country is home to many other sports modalities, such as basketball, volleyball, motor racing, judo and tennis, and those modalities are getting more and more popular every day. Not to mention those genuine Brazilian sports, such as the Capoeira. In the past few years, Brazil has been facing the challenge of hosting two of the most important Sports Events worldwide: the 2014 World Cup and the Olympics Games. In 2016, Rio will become the first South American city to host the summer Olympics. Despite its long tradition on sports events and coverage in national media, those major events have launched a need for innovative initiatives in the area.

Based on this recent demand, our Sports program aims to put the participants in contact with all the projects that are currently happening in Brazil, whether it is in the planning area, or in the innovation sector, or even in the incentive area For this purpose, we work to put the students in touch with managers, media staff, athletes, researchers and other specialists of the area. During the program, the participants will have the chance to visit offices, stadiums and sports clubs as well as the governments sectors that are responsible for giving the monetary incentives to make the sports picture in Brazil an ever-growing sector.

SUGGESTED CITIES

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

RIO DE JANEIRO

With an amazing view and one of the richest cultural agenda of Brazil, Rio is one of the most visited cities in the Southern Hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, Carnival, samba, bossa nova, and balneario beaches. The city was already chosen as one of the headquarters in the 2014 World Cup, and will become the first South American city to host the summer Olympics.

For all these reasons, the “Marvelous City” serves as a “national portrait” abroad, influencing the opinion of people from abroad about Brazil. In this sense, Rio de Janeiro has been working towards the development of its infrastructure, in order to build an environment capable of stimulate and reinforce the practice of a large number of sports modalities.

SÃO PAULO

With a population of 20 million people, São Paulo is a city of impressive numbers. With the largest GDP in the country, the city breathes business, housing more than 60% of multinational companies established in Brazil. No wonder that the metropolis is known for its fast pace. At the same time, São Paulo is a cultural reference and example of cosmopolitism. Indeed, the city is a melting pot, having a significant number of inhabitants from several nationalities - and this diversity can be seen mixed up while walking in any corner of this concrete jungle.

In the recent years, the city has been developing its sporting vocation, both for leisure and for professional performance. From the reform of city parks, to the construction of new stadiums and even with the creation of bike lanes around the metropolis, São Paulo is now presenting itself as a promising site in the Brazilian sports future.

All lectures are held in English.

- ORGANIZATION VISITS: We don't want your students to spend the entire visit inside a classroom when there is a whole new world to discover outside it.  The organization visits can vary from a dialogue with a senior manager, director or CEO to a half-day visit including a tour of the organization facilities.  The most important part of any organization visit is that your students will be free to ask any question they want.  Campus Brasil will send more information about the company to be visited including articles, videos, etc, so everybody can prepare questions.
