"During July 2011 I embarked on an adventure that changed the way I see my future. I went to study abroad in São Paulo, Brazil for the Science and Technology in the Global Context Program. On my ten day visit, I explored São Paulo. I learned about their history, about their science, their growing economy, but also about their culture and the warm people that treated me with kindness and respect. Our group had the experience to interact with professionals from academia and the industry. This experience helped to achieve our goal: to learn as much as we could and to be able to promote and apply what we learned to our career and our future.
My visit to Brazil gave me a new way to grow and also a new perspective on a different country. It showed me their culture, their customs, their history and their warming environment. The hosts were exceptionally organized and made it their duty to make us always feel welcomed. They optimized our time so that we could take advantage, as much as was humanly possible, during our stay in Brazil. I met new people and gained new friends that enhanced my experience and made it more memorable. I brought home with me so many memories and also a heart full of new dreams and new friends that will forever be with me."

"Going to Brazil was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Having only been out of the country twice before, the chance to able to travel with a group of my peers to a country like Brazil was an unforgetable experience. Brazil is unlike any place I have ever been. Even though we only stayed in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the two places were so different that I felt like we had visited two or three different countries within two weeks. The majority of the two weeks we spent in Sao Paulo. Sao Paulo is a bustling city area containing aspects that remind me of different cities in the US, parts of Asia, and Europe' while, at the same time, holding its own unique charm. The diversity of Brazil is thoroughly evident throughout the city and it allowed me to be emerged in a completely different culture. We were also able to take a weekend trip to Rio de Janeiro. Rio definitely lived up to all of our expectations as being one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was wonderful to be able to see the renewed splendor of Copacabana's sprawling white beaches and entrancing waves. While the places were extraordinary, it was the people and things that made them what they were. The people we met were all very friendly and eager to carry conversations with us. We were able to interact with students our own age and visit many of Brazil's largest companies. Going to Brazil has definitely changed my life. While it is hard to vocalize these changes, I can say that I came back feeling like a different person. Being able to be introduced to the business culture of Brazil has helped me grow as a Business major in college. My outlook on different business situations has changed to become more aware of cross cultural differences which were brought upon by our many interactions with the Brazilian people. I initially was slightly apprehensive to go visit a different country by myself but I am so glad I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone. It was one of the best two weeks I have ever had and has helped me grow close and build friendships with the students in my group that I did not know very well before. We were all able to share an experience together that is difficult to describe to people who were not there with us, bringing us closer together as friends. Campus Brasil was one of the huge contributing factors in making this trip what it was for me. Our tour guides went above and beyond regular tour guides and got to know all the students in the group on a personal level. They made the trip comfortable and fun with jokes and stories which definitely helped ease the initial mood; especially since none of the students really knew one another before taking this trip. They took care of all of us as tour guides, older siblings, and most importantly friends. They helped make my Brazilian trip remarkable."
