TWO-WEEK SUMMER LAB IN SÃO PAULO

July 16th -July 28th, 2017

The program provides you with a better understanding of social entrepreneurship, wherein the purpose is to develop a business, project or action that aim to better our world and society.  Through discovering opportunities and challenges to socially conscious enterprises the program will expand your view of 'entrepreneurship' and its potential impacts on society.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The program will provide an expanded view of social entrepreneurship, contributing to an understanding of the social problems and purposes, along with business and volunteering strategy.

 

Through in-class dialogues, analyses and discussion of actual case studies participants will gain an intimate perspective on social enterprise in Brazil.  The classes will also include activities and exercises in international work groups applied to the reality of social business.  

 

You will visit a social enterprise and plan an international fundraising project for a Brazilian NGO.

 

Furthermore, there will be sociocultural and linguistic immersion, through the Portuguese classes, where students will have introductions to grammar, vocabulary,communicative functions, and sociocultural content, compatible with A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF).

ABOUT ESPM

ESPM is regarded as one of the best universities in Brazil, particularly recognized for its marketing and advertising programs.  The university has over 50 years of tradition and keeps improving and innovating their courses and methods.  

 

This summer program will be hosted at ESPM -- with Campus Brasil supporting participants' lodging, transportation, experiential interactions and cultural immersion.

HOUSING 

Mere blocks from campus, you will be within walking distance of both class and restaurants, as well as São Paulo’s famous green space — Ibirapuera Park. 

Vila Mariana is a neighborhood full of sites and sounds. Home to many students, the neighborhood hosts colorful street art and meeting places.

 

The accommodation is a shared double-room in a hotel. Equipped with a comfortable full-sized bed, private bathroom, desk, refrigerator (mini) and television.
