The 2020 pandemic has presented to the world a new set of opportunities which increases the need for social innovation in order to create effective solutions to those most vulnerable.

​

Due to its size, Brazil offers a perfect experiential learning environment that encourages entrepreneurial actions to mitigate issues ranging from social and economic inequality problems to sustainable environmental decisions. A key to this puzzle is to understand how the third sector, social projects, and social businesses are interacting to prioritize social impact to overcome current challenges in Brazil.

In partnership with ESPM - regarded as one of the best universities in Brazil, particularly recognized for its marketing and advertising programs, we invite you to join the Social Impact Virtual Lab 2020, a team-based virtual social impact project in structure online working format.


Students will have the opportunity to work alongside Brazilian students, local leaders from social organizations and specialists from this field in order to develop a project aiming to solve a current social problem in the Brazilian landscape. All participants will be placed within an organization working on delivering a team-project-based solution.

 

The leading faculty members for the program will take an active role in teaching about social innovation and the entrepreneurship environment in Brazil and act as dedicated mentors throughout the project.

  • 1 Program Orientation

  •  2 Special Lectures

  • 3 Project Mentoring Sessions

  • 3 Cultural Language Immersion (Prerecorded Video)

  • 1 Roundtable with B-Corp Leaders

  • 3 company interactions 

  • 1 Project Presentation

The program provides participants with a better understanding of social entrepreneurship, wherein the purpose is to solve a real problem through a team-project-based experience that aims to better our world and society. By discovering opportunities and challenges to socially conscious enterprises, the program will expand your view of 'entrepreneurship' and its potential impacts on society. Through virtual dialogues, analyses and discussion, participants will gain an intimate perspective on social enterprise in Brazil.


Students are required to perform a group presentation on final project deliverables. The final project must be completed as a group and it should be presented in PowerPoint format including details about the problem-based solution. Students will also be requested to deliver a final report detailing the work done along the 4 weeks and presenting the project completion.
