To provide international colleagues – administrators, international office staff, education professionals, government officials, and faculties – with a better understanding of the Brazilian higher education system: types of Brazilian higher education institutions, internationalization process, and potential opportunities for collaboration.  In hope, this can help them better interact and engage with institutions, faculties and learners within the Brazilian Higher Education Sector. 

 

This session will also provide detailed information on upcoming opportunities for interacting with Brazilian higher education professionals, including the FAUBAI PreConference Tour and Annual Conference.

SPEAKERS
Renee Zicman

Executive Director of FAUBAI (the Brazilian Association of International Education) Renée has been a Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP), an author on the Internationalization of Higher Education and Religious Movements and consultant in Internationalization of Higher Education. She has served as Director for International Affairs at PUC-SP (1994-2012) and Vice-President of the Cendotec - Franco-Brazilian Center of Technical and Scientific Documentation and the Campus France Agency in Brazil (2010- 2015). She is since 2013 Executive-Director of the Brazilian Association for International Education (FAUBAI).

Maya Ferreira

Maya received her B.A. from PUC-SP in International Relations. Post graduation Maya joined the International Office where she worked to promote international initiatives in and out of PUC. After 3 years she moved to Campus Brasil where she has moved to support the organization's platform to promote international education opportunities for Brazilians and foreigners alike.  Maya is the Director of Programming, working alongside faculty and institution staff to support their initiatives in Brazil.
